Sound of the Week Lesson for /ea/

Language Arts

The sound this week is the short vowel combination /ea/ as in bread.
Emphasize the /ea/ sound often throughout the day.  Have your child repeat the sound with you.

Put up your sound wall poster.

Day 3:  Practice writing the vowel combination "ea" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 4:  Practice writing the word "bread" one or two times.

Day 5:  Practice writing any of the other theme words one or two times.
 

Activities and/or Art Projects

Bake some bread from scratch with your child.

Learn some quotes about bread!

Take a trip to the bakery and buy some bakery fresh bread.

Find pictures of the many different kinds of bread and make a collage poster.
