Sound of the Week Lesson for /ng/

Language Arts

The sound this week is the consonant team /ng/ as found at the end of king.
Emphasize the /ng/ sound often throughout the day.  Have your child repeat the sound with you.

Note: /ng/ does not come at the beginning of a word.

Put up your sound wall poster.

Day 1:  Practice writing the letter "n" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 2:  Practice writing the letter "g" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 3:  Practice writing the consonant team "ng" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 4:  Practice writing the word "king" one or two times.

Day 5:  Practice writing any of the other theme words one or two times.
