Country of the Week
Curriculum for Kindergarten Ages 4 & 5

Curriculum Outline

There are many countries to choose from.  Choose the ones that are interesting to you and your child.  You do not have to cover them all.  There is a country for each letter of the alphabet if you wish to combine this with Letter of the Week.   A suggested weekly schedule is listed below.  You may wish to have an atlas and/or globe handy when doing map work.  You will want to show your child where the country being studied is in relation to where you live. 

Day 1 - Map & Flag (print out and color both a map and flag)

Day 2 - Books/Stories (choose one of the books to share with your child)

Day 3 - Poems/Songs (choose one of the selections to share with your child)

Day 4 - Books/Stories (choose a different book or continue with the book you chose on Day 2)

Day 5 - Crafts/Activities (choose an activity or craft to do with your child)
