The vocabulary word is gasoline - gasoline is a liquid substance that is used to fuel cars and trucks.  You buy it at the gas station.

Gross Motor Skills Activity:  (Monday)

Make a steering wheel out of cardboard.  Let your child "drive" around the house.  Put up a stop sign and teach your child to stop when she gets near it.

Fine Motor Skills Activity:  (Friday)

Build a city out of blocks to drive toy cars and trucks around.

Shape/Color  (Tuesday)

This week you will teach the shape of a rectangle.

• Collect 3 - 5 everyday objects in the shape of a rectangle... ie: toy trucks, bricks, books, make one out of felt, etc... to share with your child and discuss.
• Walk through your home looking for rectangles. (Or look in a magazine.)
• Cut rectangles out of playdough or cookie dough... bake the cookies!
• Put a drawing of a rectangle on your learning poster.

The letter this week is the letter M.

• Give your child a printout of the (capital) letter M to color.  ~Letter Printouts~
• Teach your child to trace the shape of the letter M using his finger.  You can trace in pudding, finger paint, a shallow tray (cookie sheet) filled with rice or beans, etc.
• Point out the letter M in signs, cereal boxes, etc.
• Post the letter M on your learning poster.

The number this week is the number 13.

• Show your child 13 objects to count, or eat 13 mini crackers, 13 cheerios, etc.
• Show your child the written symbol (numeral) for 13 and put on your learning poster.
• Add 13 stickers to your counting book.
• Show your matching index cards for the number 13 to your child.
• Draw 13 rectangles on a piece of paper and count them with your child.
• Walk around your home counting 13 of many different objects.
