The sound this week is the consonant team /ph/ as found at the beginning of phase and the end of graph.
Emphasize the /ph/ sound often throughout the day.  Have your child repeat the sound with you.

Put up your sound wall poster.

Telephone call, telephone call,
Hear it ring, hear it ring,
Who can it be phoning, on this lovely morning?
Ring-a-ling, ring-a-ling.
 

Handwriting Assignments:

Day 1:  Practice writing the letter "p" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 2:  Practice writing the letter "h" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 3:  Practice writing the consonant team "ph" on one line of handwriting paper.

Day 4:  Practice writing the word "phone" one or two times.

Day 5:  Practice writing any of the other theme words one or two times.
 

Activities and/or Art Projects

Memorize your home phone number.

Telephone practice

Teach your child telephone manners.  Also practice what to do in an emergency.  Use 911 responsibly, only in an emergency.  (If you feel your child is still too young to use the phone, you may want to teach manners of how you want your child to behave when you are on the phone.)
Telephone Tips for Youngsters

Draw a picture of a telephone.
